Comparison Essay Both of Emily Dickinson’s poems are about death. â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop For Love† is more about the cycle of life than death. â€Å"I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died† relates to the final moment before death. Emily Dickinson’s poems are both centered on death; â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop For Death† is based more around upbeat and happy scenes, as where â€Å"I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died† talks about the preparation before death. Although both poems have very different meaning, the two poems both focus on the ending of life. In the last line of â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop For Death† Emily Dickinson says were toward eternity. In Dickinson’s second poem it says, now she waits for the king to come. In the first poem Dickinson refers to eternity meaning after death living for forever. In the second poem waiting for the king to come relates to the end of existence, when the king comes back to take us all. In â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop For Death† has a happy ending and is a very appealing poem. Dickinson describes a girl being picked up in a carriage for all of life’s journeys. Where Dickinson’s second poem was a serious poem, describing the build up right before death. She mentions the stillness in the air, and breath-gathering firm. One poem is very heart warming and, the other is very serious. These poems ultimately have the same meaning, but both take a different look at death. The first poem contains the process of life before death, and how she is working for a new beginning. Dickinson’s second poem talks about her death being the end of everything, Dickinson even mentions decaying in the grave. The first poem has a positive outlook on death, and the second portrays a rough end to life.

Summary: This article begins by informing the reader of various leadership development challenges that organizations of all sizes and industries encounter. Due to a lack of understanding the importance of best practice leadership, organizations can critically damage their future success. The author points out those depriving high-potential candidates of critical work experience will ultimately create shortfalls for employees to attain senior-level positions once the current CEOs are retired. On top of that, remaining deficient in the resources necessary for employee development, and the inability to adapt to a rapidly aging workforce, also creates underperformance for employees. These processes include mentoring, networking and action learning. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to better understand how organizations can implement these processes effectively in the healthcare industry. Outline: I. The author begins by presenting â€Å"workforce statistics that pose a severe challenge as the baby boomer generation retires and far fewer college-educated workers are prepared to replace them† (240). a. A lack of personal networks and mentoring programs decreases morale; therefore, employees do not completely understand what it takes to be successful in their roles. b. â€Å"Companies are successful to the extent that they have leaders at all levels of the organization.†(241) c. Career advancement challenges for women and people of color are also present in corporate environments that discourage networking opportunities and/or promote stereotyping. i. Since the beginning of my employment, I only call one of my co-workers my mentor, and that’s simply because I feel a greater confidence when relying on him for support and guidance in the workplace. After reading this article, I am more prone to seek other individuals that have the potential to provide their distinctive opinions. †¢ Lastly, I learned that there is a greater outcome from employees who participate in workshops facilitated from their senior executives. I undergo a lot of training at HMA and some of the seminars are proctored by senior management. After reading this article, and looking back on the few seminars taught by upper management, I can agree that I was more focused and motivated to learn.

Kohl's Corporation is an American department store chain headquartered in the Milwaukee suburb of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, operating as of September 2011, 1,089 stores in 49 states. In 1998, it entered the S;P 500 list, and is also listed in the Fortune 500 (#135 in 2010). The chain was the 20th-largest retailer in the United States in 2011 in terms of revenue. Kohl's is the 4th largest US department store by sales, below JCPenney, and above Nordstrom. BeginningsMaxwell Kohl, who had previously operated traditional grocery stores, built his first supermarket in 1946, the first in what would become a southeastern Wisconsin chain known as Kohl's Food Stores. In 1962, he started his first department store, Kohl's Department Store, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He positioned Kohl's between the higher-end department stores and the discounters, selling everything from candy to engine oil to sporting equipment. In 1972 the British-American Tobacco Company's US retail division, BATUS Inc. bou ght a controlling interest in Kohl's Corporation, which at the time operated 50 grocery stores, six department stores, three drug stores and three liquor stores. The Kohl family, led by Allen and Herbert Kohl, continued to manage the company. The family left the management in 1979, and Herbert Kohl became a United States Senator and owner of the Milwaukee Bucks. The firm then expanded Kohl's presence from 10 to 39 stores in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. The grocery stores were sold to A&P in 1983, operating under the name Kohl's Food Store, and later Kohl's Food Emporium.In February 2003, A&P put the Kohl's Food Stores up for sale, as part of an effort to reduce debt. In June 2003, A;P announced their plans to close all Kohl's Food Stores and administrative offices. By the end of 2003, all Kohl's Food Stores locations were closed. Expansion A group of investors, including the senior management, purchased the company in 1986, and the company added 27 more stores in the next two ye ars. In 1988, the chain acquired 26 locations from Chicago-based MainStreet, gaining several stores in Chicago's suburbs, Minneapolis, Minnesota and parts ofMichigan. In 1992, the company went public and a period of expansion began. Kohl's entered mid-Atlantic markets in 1997 (opening in many former locations of Clover, an offshoot of the Strawbridge's corporation brand department stores in the Philadelphia region); Texas, Missouri and the Northeast in 1999 (the latter market resulting from its purchase of many former Caldor locations); Georgia and the Southeast in 2001; New England in 2002; California and the Southwest in 2003; and the Northwest in 2006.In April 2005, the company opened stores in Florida and other Southern states. Kohl's has replaced many former Mervyns stores in the western U. S. Kohl's design office opened in January 2007, located in the heart of New York's garment district. The 23,000-square-foot (2,100Â  m2) facility, located at 1359 Broadway, is the company's first product-design facility in the nation's fashion capital. Existing stores are undergoing renovations to make them more modern and more like up-scale department stores.These re-modeled stores must be of a certain age and profit group in order to qualify for remodeling. On October 13, 2009, Kohl's announced it was closing its oldest distribution center, located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, in order to more efficiently service its expanding number of stores. The inventory from the Menomonee Falls distribution center was moved to a newer distribution center in Ottawa, Illinois. In late 2010, Kohl's opened 40 new stores in the 2011 fiscal year. As of January 2011, Kohl's stores were in 49 of the 50 states (only excluding Hawaii. )

Running a country using a central government has always been a topic of debate. How do a handful of people govern the free will of millions of others? The details of the word â€Å"govern† used in the previous statement have evolved into a seemingly endless quantity of laws, acts, policies, taxes, rules, parties, and on goes the list. Though government is growing evermore punctilious in it’s outward appearance, these meticulously crafted â€Å"rules† or â€Å"guidelines† are the tools used by the government to promote the well being of the nation. Whether or not these tools are used effectively and frequently enough is a question that arises many different responses, often differing vastly. Personally, I believe the government does well in some aspects of the well being of our country but not so well in others. At the very basis of the federal government’s involvement in privacy lie the Fourth and Fifth Amendments. The fourth amendment was composed with one sole purpose: to guarantee security in one’s rightful domain. So long as a citizen is law abiding, this amendment provides legal privacy of their property. The Fifth Amendment guarantees that private property shall not be taken for use of the public, without just compensation. In regards to private property, these two Constitutional Amendments create a crude yet stout foundation to protect one’s property.
